Brewferm Belgian Beer Kits
Brewferm Belgian beer kits are produced, according to traditional Belgian recipes, in small special batches using 100% pure malt extract. To match Belgian tradition, special ingredients, such as flakes, herbs and fruit juices are added to achieve the special tastes of Belgian beers. Pilsner 1042 OG. 12 or 20 litres. Light, blond beer, comparable with the commercial lager beers (recipe for 20 litres), or the better Pilsner beers (recipe for 12 litres). Gold 1053 OG. 12 litres. A real delux pilsner type of beer with a far better taste than the normal lagers, it is comparable with the Scandinavian deluxe-beers. Abbey Beer 1070 OG. 9 litres. One of the Belgian speciality beers: the Abbey beer with its vinous character, due to a high alcohol content, is strong, dark, reddish brown beer with long keeping properties. Full flavoured taste with a malt aroma. Very thick and long lasting head (lacy). Ambiorix 1060 OG. 15 litres. An amber beer with a red copper tint, it has a slightly acidic palate at first, with a sweet after taste, comparable with the well known red beer of Roeselare. Diabolo 1071 OG. 9 litres. Belgian speciality beer: golden colour with a thick and long lasting head (lacy). Characteristic aroma of the 'devil' type Belgian beer, it has a soft palate with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Kriek (Cherry) 1053 OG. 12 litres. Kriek is the best known of the famous Belgian fruit-beers. Kriek is made by the maceration of cherries in beer. This red copper tinted beer has a slightly acidic taste with a sweet aroma. Each kit contains the pure cherry juice of at least 3kg of cherries! Old Flemish Brown 1060 OG. 12 litres. Not unlike the Dutch 'Bock Beer', it is a dark brown beer with a red copper tint and a slight liquorice aftertaste. In Belgium Oud Bruin (Flemish for Old Brown) type beers are strong, aromatic, with long keeping properties. Christmas 1065 OG. 7 litres. This dark, strong, heavy-bodied Belgian beer is sweeter than the Abbey style beers, with a strong malt flavour and aroma. Belgian Christmas beers (brewed with top fermenting yeast) have long keeping properties, improving with age. This beer has a long lasting thick, lacy head. Grand Cru 1075 OG. 9 litres. Gold opaline coloured beer, with a strong flavour of grains and even bread. It has little hop aroma, a slightly fruity yet mouthful taste and a sweet aftertaste. This kit contains wheat malt and a special herb mixture. Wheatbeer 1053 OG. 15 litres. This beer is very similar to the well known Belgian 'Witbier': very pale, honeytype, opaline colour with a low alcohol content. It has a sweet smell and a slightly acidic taste. Wheatbeer is based on an old recipe using barley, wheat, oat flakes and herb mixture. The addition of coriander and curacao orange peel, produces a beer very reminiscent of the well known 'Wheatbeer' from Hoegaarden. Framboise (Raspberry) 1053 OG. 12 litres. Made with the equivalent of 2 kilos of raspberries, this beer has a very delicate aroma, the ideal refreshing summer beer or aperitif. Triple 1075 OG. 9 litres. Triple is a well known deep golden coloured Belgian speciality. Due to its high malt content, it has a very pleasant aroma and taste. It is full-bodied with a high alcohol content and even a bit herbaceous. | |||
